Our Training Method

Effective language training starts with good preparation. That is why we start every learning process with an intake so that we know exactly what our students require and what they can do. An intake can take place at one of our STE Languages locations, on location, by telephone or even via our Online Classroom.

  • 1

    Personal intake by language trainer

The personal intake consists of a written test and an interview conducted by a language trainer. The following topics are discussed:

    • Reason for the training course and purpose
    • Student’s position and working environment
    • Desired objectives
    • General (learning) background of the student
    • Availability and course schedule
  • 2

Assessment of starting and target level

The individual starting level is determined on the basis of the intake. In addition to the starting level, the target level is also determined. STE Languages applies the European Framework of Reference (CEFR) to ascertain a student’s level.

  • 3

    STE recommendations

All students receive recommendations and advice from STE Languages on which training courses are best suited to them. This way students can see where they currently are and what the anticipated finishing level will be, therefore giving students clarity and realistic expectations.

  • 4

    Client approval

Once you have received STE Languages' proposal and everything is clear and to your liking, you send us your approval and then you can get started!

  • 5

    Course planning

The start date and any further planning details are then determined in consultation with us. Personal preferences are of course taken into account where possible.

  • 6

    Training course

The following applies to all training courses: attendance and motivation are important factors to achieve the desired goals. An evaluation will take place halfway through each language course, this way any adjustments can be made and implemented in a timely manner, if necessary.

  • 7

    Evaluation and certificate

At the end of the language training courses another evaluation will take place. After that students will receive a personal evaluation and a certificate. The evaluation includes follow-up advice and the certificate states the final European Framework of Reference level achieved.

Courses at all levels

Beginner, intermediate level or advanced? All students at STE Languages attend language courses that suit their language level. The starting level is determined on the basis of an intake interview and a written test.

STE Languages applies the European Framework of Reference (CEFR) to ascertain a student’s level. The CEFR was drawn up by the Council of Europe and describes the language skills from A1 to C2. The relevant level will be stated in our recommendations and advice, following the intake and can also be seen on the certificate and the final evaluation that the student is awarded at completion of their course.
